Freeze Trip 2006
Pecan Park, San Marcos River
January 28-29, 2006
We were unable to camp on our normal river island in 2006. The persistent drought led to a statewide burn ban. The club would have been unable to police that with paddlers spread out over the island. So we moved the trip to the San Marcos River and car camped at Pecan Park--in the rain. Oh well.
In addition to the Rivermen Freeze Trip, a group of polers were at Pecan Park. Looking for new and better ways to make a fool of myself, I joined them. And yes, I took an unplanned swim.
